The September chain maille project is dedicated to pumpkins around the world. This bracelet called “Too Many Pumpkins” serves two purposes\, Fall and Halloween. The bracelet is made using the barrel chain maille weave. A slight modification adds a stem. The primary colors of orange and black make it suitable for Halloween. The barrel weave is a little tricky to learn\, but once learned\, it can be used to create several variations. Tools for use during the class will be supplied. All the materials for the bracelet are supplied including a “hassle-free” magnetic clasp in the kit. \nI WANT TO TAKE THIS CLASS

DESCRIPTION:DATE: September 18 and 19\, 2026 \nTIME: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM each day \nCOST: $ 145.00 Members / $175.00 Non-members \nLIMIT: 6 \nTake your glass mosaic skills to the next level in this intensive two-day workshop designed for artists who already have experience cutting and grinding sheet glass. This is not a beginner class. Mosaic artist Manuel Marti has more than 40 years of experience in stained glass and glass mosaics. Using one of Manny’s illustrated mosaic designs\, students will learn the process and techniques used to create these distinctive glass mosaics. Unlike traditional mosaic methods that begin by filling a pattern\, Manuel’s illustrated approach starts with a detailed drawing. Each piece of glass is individually cut and shaped to follow the design\, while the grout lines become an intentional part of the finished artwork rather than simply filling the spaces between pieces.Throughout the workshop\, students will learn every stage of the process\, from selecting glass and shaping individual pieces to applying adhesives\, grouting\, and achieving a professional finish. By the end of the class\, each participant will complete a mosaic while gaining the knowledge and confidence to apply these techniques to future projects. Some studio tools will be available for use during class; however\, students are encouraged to bring their own favorite glass-working tools\, especially glass cutters and grozing pliers.
