Let’s Learn Stained Glass – Marc Rotman

Marc has been an artist for 29 years, working in the medium of Stained Glass. Utilizing both the copper foil and lead techniques, but those categories don’t define his work. He regularly integrates repurposed and recycled items into original works as they bring inspiration, surprise, and a little fun into each composition. In his creations you may find a vintage citrus juicer or an antique tail light lens adding pattern and dimension to a piece. “I enjoy my work most when working with these unconventional elements, as I find them to be both inspirational and challenging at the same time.”

During this fun and informative class, students will get their hands on glass and learn the process of creating stained glass from start to finish, using the copper foil technique. No prior experience is needed, just enthusiasm, and a willingness to try something new. All supplies needed to create a piece of art will be provided. There will be several design patterns to choose from, and a selection of colored glass. Students will learn how to “cut” glass, apply the copper foil, and solder pieces together. By the end of the 3 hour class, students will have a creation completed and ready to take home and maybe even a new hobby.

This class will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with time allotted for lunch or a snack. Actual class runtime will be 3 hours. The class will be held at the Plateau Creative Arts Center.
