Kumihimo, sometimes called jellyfish braiding, is a Japanese art that has been around for over fourteen hundred years. This technique was used to decorate samurai swords and was worn as accessories by Japanese princesses. Students will learn a little more about the history of this art and make a Kumihimo keychain. Participants will leave the class knowing the basic techniques to make keychains, bracelets, and necklaces.
