Create artwork using stained-glass with guest artist Marc Rotman

Back by popular demand, the Art Guild is proud to have guest artist and instructor, Marc Rotman from Knoxville, return to the Plateau Creative Arts Center to teach a stained-glass class. During this 3-hour class, you will learn the process of creating stained-glass artwork from start to finish by using the copper foil technique. Marc will teach you how to cut glass, apply the copper foil, and solder your piece(s) together. Everything will be supplied to create your project, there will be several design patterns to choose from, and a selection of colored glass. You don’t need any experience, just enthusiasm and the willingness to try something new. By the end of the class, you will have your own creation completed and ready to take home. Marc has been an artist most of his life. For the past 27 years, he has worked in the medium of stained glass, utilizing both the copper foil and lead techniques. He regularly integrates repurposed and recycled items into his original works as they bring inspiration, surprise, and a little fun into each composition. His exhibitions have been at the Emporium, Big Ears Festival, Rossini Festival, and Dogwood Arts Festival, along with numerous Art Centers within East Tennessee.
Join Marc Rotman to create your own stained-glass artwork on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Cost of the class is $94 for Art Guild members and $101 for non-members.
