Design your own Perpetual Botanical Journal with Dale Soblo

Dale Soblo, botanical artist and Art Guild member, will be teaching at the Plateau Creative Arts Center offering the practice of Perpetual Botanical Journaling. A Perpetual Botanical Journal is a type of nature journaling that documents plants over the seasons, typically organized by months or weeks. This calendar organization is designed to capture the changing display of plants over the course of a year or even several years. More importantly, it provides a deeper structured way to study the flora around you. Other benefits of journaling include the opportunity to practice artistic skills as well as mindfulness. In this class
students will: Set up a Perpetual Botanical Journal, learn about some of the tools and techniques commonly utilized, practice observing plant material, and practice journaling skills.

Supplies students need to bring are: A mixed media (watercolor, ink, graphite) journal with at least 52 pages and an archival ink pen. Optional materials include, a small travel watercolor set; brushes, graphite pencils, and colored pencils. A detailed materials recommendation list will be provided to students when they sign up for the class.

The class fee is $72 for Art Guild members and $77 for guests. Pre-registration is required.
